If we are followers of Jesus, it is our job to not only tell people about Him (although that is important, too,) but to give our lives over to Him to such a degree that it’s actually Him working through us in everything that we do.  How else will people have a chance to see how much Jesus loves them, except by letting Him show it through us?

“God made you to be a replica of Him. The only God some people will see is you.” (excerpt from Receiving Revelation from the Foundation Stone pt.3, by Dr. Chester C. Pipkin)

This is a bold statement to Christians, and it communicates a great responsibility. It’s echoed throughout the Bible.  We are made in the image of God (Gen. 1:27); we are to grow up into Christ (Eph. 4:15); it even calls the church the very body of Christ, who is the head (Col. 1:18.)  There are plenty of scriptures that make it clear that this is a primary purpose for God’s people.

As Christians, we give our lives to the Lord so that we can be a blessing to Him and be used as His hands and feet to bring forth life in other people… The Lord is concerned about those that are dying and don’t know Him. (excerpt from Receiving Revelation from the Foundation Stone pt.3, by Dr. Chester C. Pipkin)

So, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”  Matthew 5:16
